After a nice relaxing drive through the  Jamaican mountains we arrived at our private waterfall and mountain stream tour.  A few of the local tour staff escorted me about 100 yards from the road to a mountain stream where I could take a series of photos of the rushing water that had the force to cut paths into the stream bed rocks.  I have no idea what type of rocks the mountain was made of, but the rocks were soft enough that the water was able to cut half round flutes that would empress any machinist.  After about 15 minutes or so I was taken about 100 yards or so down the stream to see a couple of water falls.
Seeing the  Jamaican waterfalls without any other tourist was one of my primary trip goals.  I love to enjoy nature without crowds of @#$%& tourist screwing up my view and thought process.  While I was not given any limits on time, we departed after about 15 minutes of me taking a few hundred pictures.  In hind sight I should of brought a bathing suit so I could of relaxed in some of the pools at the base of the waterfalls.
After leaving the waterfalls I informed my tour guides that they should offer a couples tour for both the Fire on the Water and the waterfalls.  Both places would make ideal places to make love while being surrounded by nature and good vibes.

If you are traveling to Jamaica and are looking for a great waterfall experience without other tourists leave a message and I can hook you up with a private tour.

Hey, that couples tour sounds great. My girlfriend and I are headed to Jamaica for an all inclusive at the end of May and would like to take a day to get off the resort and see the real Jamaica. We want to get out and see a natural waterfall minus all the tourists. Can you recommend a guide?

So did you bring that tripod last trip? Did you get a chance to see some more hidden waterfalls? Since I haven’t seen any of your pics yet I’m curious. Are you gonna come update your blog now?

My Fiance and I will be traveling to Negril in October. We are staying at CSA. I would love any information you might have or suggestions on waterfall, caves or cliffs in the vicinity. The Fire on the Water sounds amazing. Are there specific hours that you can visit the area? Can you go alone or do you need a guide? Is swimming allowed? As you can see I have numerous questions. LOL Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions you might have.

Sandy, I forwarded your request to the company that I use in Jamaica for tours.

The fire on the water is open pretty much around the clock. While I’ve only been during the day I know of others that go in the evening or late at night after returning from the bars. They have a guide that will light the water for you and cook for you if you bring food :-)

The private waterfall tour is only a few minutes from the fire on the water place so you could hit both of them on the same trip.

The same guys that gave you the firewater tour can give you the waterfall tour. It’s only about a mile away in a straight line but maybe 5-10 minutes since the roads are all windy. Either that or ask pretty much any taxi driver in the area to take you there.

Elecia, it’s about 20 minutes or so out of Ocho Rios Jamaica. It’s not on a map like Dunn’s River or other tourist attractions.
