How Water is Collection in the Jamaican Mountains.

From a distance it looks like a concrete truck tipped over and spilled concrete all over a Jamaican mountain side.  This is actually how Jamaican’s collect rain water so they can use it as drinking water!

This home in the mountains of Jamaica is where I stayed for 5 restful days and nights.  The home is the farm house for a farm that surrounds the home as far as you can see in any direction (excluding the ocean!).   The ocean is only a few miles away but the drive takes about 20 minutes since the Jamaican mountain roads do not run in a straight line for over 200 yards or so.

This was our view from the front porch looking out toward the ocean.  The mountains in Jamaica have flat areas that are perfect for nature walks if you are not into climbing steep hills.

From this mountain top view the ocean only looks like a two minute hang glide away!  On my next visit I would love to see how fast I could make it on a mountain bike (down the mountain, I’m too lazy to bike up it).
